Think those boxes of stuff in the attic will yield a pretty sweet return at the neighborhood garage sale? It’s a fact – making money from old junk makes you feel good inside. You can double those fuzzy feelings by helping someone else save, too. Here are a few ideas, to put you on the financial “do-gooder” path. One person’s garage sale showcase can be another’s treasure. So find ways to share your “wealth” of unwanted items with someone who wants ‘em – for free. You’ll have a warm feeling (and a clean basement) in no time…

Thanks for sharing my “share the wealth” post. FYI, I have my retirement savings in an ING Direct account. Is that karma or what? Thanks again.

As a retiree, I have used sites such as Ebay with modest success. Giving things away is great but in these times, selling items makes a bit more sense. This is not to say that I haven’t given valuable things away to friends who need them. But in general, for paying bills, it doesn’t work too well.
I have done, and will continue to do, both. I have a yard sale a couple times each year, but I also give lots of stuff away on freecyle. I have also received things that I really needed. What goes around, comes around.
I have always given and God has rewarded me more than I could ever expect. I want for nothing, for God owns everything, including us. I am sorry it is a hard time for some people, but God keeps in perfect peace, whose mind stays on Him. I hurt for others, and I try to help, for what you do for others, you do for God. I would never sell God anything, for all belongs to him. I will look around and do what I can. If you cannot do it, that is OK, for God knows our circumstances.
