Think back to the first few years with your mate (swoon, sigh). Whether it was in high school, college or as young professionals, you most likely didn’t throw cash around when you hung out. Meeting for coffee, long walks and roadtrips to out-of-the-way spots (wink, wink) were cheap dates, but they also gave you lots of time to get to know each other. And maybe that included how you approach things like money, and spending and finances and saving. Those days may seem long gone now that there are kids, bills and jobs to think about, but we hope you’re still on the same financial honeymoon. Honeymoon over, you say?
Money matters add stress to any relationship, and arguments resulting from the family budget affect the whole family, not just Mom and Dad. Getting back on the same page financially speaking will only strengthen your relationship, make you happier and maybe even save you some money. Money Saving Mom has a few cheap date ideas that can actually help you and the one you love get a little closer and get back on track financially. Although she forgot one of our favs: shipping the little ones off to Grandma’s for the night.
