DVR alert: Fun show’s making personal finance must-save TV.

Who says TV’s rotting (or robbing) your brain? On Friday night (May 29) at 9 p.m. ET, the folks at ABC are taking everyday personal finance and transforming it into family TV night on the couch. A new program called “UN-BROKE: What You Need To Know About Money” explores the ins and outs of things like credit, mortgages, stocks, investing and 401(k)s. It’s loaded with stars who are featured in funny, smart segments teaching financial principles aimed at people of all ages (even kids) and walks of life.

We’re no TV snobs and are downright thrilled that saving money and personal finance is getting its due on network TV. Whether you’re getting your financial information from channel 31, the Internet or a crystal ball doesn’t much matter to us. Just make sure you’re getting good advice, taking care of your financial business and socking away money whenever you can. In this case, you’ll be learning from people like The Jonas Brothers, Cedric the Entertainer and Christian Slater. How cool’s that? So gather the family, get the popcorn popped and get ready for some funny but valuable television for a change. We saw the promo and it looks pretty darn good. She’s funny, but we still can’t take Marisa Tomei seriously as a speed dater. Like she needs a date.

Interesting and how interesting will be compared to other money shows we have seen in the past. I will have wait until I watch. Also we surely need life lessons from true money savvy heros not just rock bands, NBA players and so forth. It will be impress people if a true money hero from the oridinary life gets picked to share the success in his personal finance life. THat would make lot of sense.

Whom, I have to see this. I am just a Saver, Investor and Money mentor.
